  • 2010

    6 Women of Color launched the Massachusetts Women of Color Network after attending the National conference in New Orleans

  • 2013

    Started holding consistent meeting space for WOC including quarterly meetings and online space

  • 2015

    First MAWOCN Annual 1-day conference titled “Beyond Self Care” attended by 60 WOC

  • 2018

    First overnight 3rd Annual Conference attended by 100+ WOC that ignited change across the state and 50 MAWOCN attended the National Conference in Florida

  • 2020

    Expanding virtual meeting space through a new website launch and social media

  • 2010

    June 1– MAWOCN Hired Kishana Smith as the Program Director

    MAWOCN began distributing its monthly newsletter

  • 2022

    January 26 – MAWOCN hired Dani W. as Program Associate

    July 14– MAWOCN became an official 501c3 organization

    • 2023

      February – MAWOCN welcomed new Board Members and three new circles: Communications & Fundraising, Administration & Finance, and Community Care & Connection. Kishana Smith begins new role as Executive Director
